Ben Swanepoel was born and raised in South Africa, where a lifelong love of the ocean, mountains and open spaces shaped many of the adventures described in his memoirs. Over the years he has worked in conservation management, travelled widely, and pursued a variety of endurance and outdoor challenges. He currently lives and works in Laos, where he continues to write, photograph, and share stories through books, photography and video.
